The Odyssey is a 90-foot yawl designed by Sparkman and Stephens for Mrs. Barklie Henry (a member of the Vanderbilt family) as a gift for her husband in 1938. During World War II, Odyssey was commandeered by the U.S. Navy and used for radar, sonar testing and echo sounding studies, and later as a research vessel.

Mission: To serve as a sail-training vessel for the Tacoma Sea Scouts
