Volunteer Teams
We are looking for volunteers for the following teams. Based on your application selections, we will assign you to area that best fits your preferences and skills.
Community Relations
Making presentations as a member of the Speaker’s Bureau (training required) or staffing booths at local community fairs and festivals.
Event Resources
Special projects including corporate parties, special events and general all-around fun. Media and Community Relations, business management, office duties, contact database management, and anything else that may come up.
Festival Production
Site set-up, installation, and teardown of tents, lighting, sound system, stages, seating, tables, etc.
Programs, Education and Villages
Programming for our three villages including; music and entertainment, kids and family activities, youth and education, arts and culture, regional support and participation.
Transportation
Assist with transportation needs including working with local transit companies.
Volunteer Program
Pre-festival volunteer management and scheduling. Collect volunteer information, maintain contact with all volunteers, assist with volunteer training, policy, meetings, and the overall volunteer experience before, during, and after TST 2008.
Marine Operations
Port and harbor operations and regulations, vessel recruitment, sail schedule and itineraries, vessel information and logistics, Customs and pilots, ASTA requirements, venue preparation and recovery, permits and authorizations, moorage and anchorage, environmental planning, volunteer crew management, crew activities and hospitality, crew and captain events, supply, ship liaisons, Parade of Sail, port operations.
Security and Safety
On land: ship access control, vehicle access control, dock access control, site foot patrols, crowd management, communications and first aid. Work with security supervisors regarding landside security requirements.
On the water (if you have a boat): escorts for parade vessels, escorts for daily and evening sails, waterway patrols and response to contingencies. Work with the Coast Guard and others regarding waterside security requirements.
